Marie M. Funk, 87

Marie M. Funk, 87, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Reinbeck, died April 24 at the Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. A funeral liturgy was celebrated April 27 at the Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, Reinbeck. Burial was in the church cemetery. A memorial fund is being established.

Marie Madeline Funk was born on October 8, 1914, to Michael and Marie (Druart) Ogle. She grew up in the area of her birth. In 1934 she was united in marriage to Howard Swift. Following his tragic death, she married Clifford Funk in 1938. She owned and operated the Ede Mar Beauty Shop in the old theater building in Reinbeck. She later moved her shop to her home. She later worked at the University of Northern Iowa Campus Library until retiring in 1984.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husbands; two brothers; a sister; and five nephews.

She is survived by her daughter; her grandchildren; three sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
