Jiles W. Eslinger, 83

Jiles W. Eslinger, 83, of Reinbeck, died February 5 at the Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. A Funeral Liturgy was celebrated on February 8 at the Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Reinbeck. Burial was in the church cemetery. A memorial fund is being established.

Born on February 7, 1919, Jiles was the son of Russell and Bertha (Barfels) Eslinger. He grew up in the area of his birth and graduated from the Reinbeck High School with the Class of 1937. On June 20, 1939, he was united in marriage to Ethel Lynch. The couple lived and farmed north of Reinbeck retiring in 1976.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Eugene and Barbara Eslinger of Kellogg, Dean and Linda Eslinger of Grundy cCnter and Bob and Shelly Eslinger of Reinbeck; a daughter, Connie Siems and husband Stan of Ackley; two brothers; 12 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
