Minor O. Smith was born in the year 1828 in Tompkins county, New York, and died at his home in Grundy county, Iowa, March 23, 1902. He married in 1855 and came to Dubuque, where they lived one year, then came to Jackson county. They moved to Grundy county twenty years ago and lived here until his death. To them nine children were born, five of whom are still living. Deceased was respected wherever known. The funeral services were held in the Melrose M.E. church Wednesday at 11 a.m.
