Helena Rindels, 81

Helena Frieda Rindels, age 81, of Wellsburg died September 18, 2006, at the Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral services were September 22 at the Reformed Church of Stout. Burial was in Stout Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Helena was born the daughter of Fred and Gesina (Flesner) Tjaden on October 31, 1924, near Buck Grove, Grundy County. She received her education from Pleasant Valley No. 4 Country School near her home.

On January 3, 1947, Helena was united in marriage with Harold Ben Rindels at the Reformed Church of Stout. They made their home and farmed in the Wellsburg area. In 1955 they moved and farmed near Stout until 1963 when they returned to the Wellsburg area and moved to their current farm, where they continued farming for many years. Through the years Helena worked along side Harold, farming together.

Helena was a member of the Reformed Church of Stout. She enjoyed gardening, being outdoors and raising all of their farm animals. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and playing bingo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Rindels, her parents; and a brother-in-law, Fred Marks.

Helena is survived by two sons, Darwin Rindels of Wellsburg and Darius (Becky) Rindels of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren; and one sister, Elma Marks of Roscoe, IL.
