Calvin Spree, 76

Calvin Spree, age 76, of Parkersburg, died November 5 at the Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. Funeral services were held November 8 at the First Congregational Church, Parkersburg. Interment was in the Stout Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Calvin was born the son of William and Tena (Ridder) Spree on February 26, 1929. He received his education from Albion No. 6 country school near his home. Calvin was united in marriage with Imogene Junker on July 8, 1948. Calvin worked at Galloway's Farm Equipment in Waterloo. They later moved and farmed east of Plainfield. During this time he worked at Rath Packing in Waterloo, drove cement truck for Ready Mix in Waverly, was a custodian at the Plainfield School for eight years and drove the school bus for Plainfield School. In 1971, they moved to Parkersburg. He drove cement truck for Knock Lumber. Calvin worked at Kyhl's and Badger's Chevrolet car dealers in Parkersburg.

He was preceded in death by one son; his parents; one brother; and an infant sister.

Calvin is survived by his wife, Imogene Spree; two sons, David (Hermina) Spree and Loren (Linette) Spree; two daughters, Sandra (Steve) Sessler and Nancy (Craig) Schrage; a special daughter, Raea (Chris) Kelly; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Harlan (Janice) Spree; one sister, Esther (Richard) Brouwer; one sister-in-law, LuEtta Spree; and many nieces and nephews.
