Harold Rademaker, 80

Harold G. Rademaker, 80, of Stout, died of natural causes Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, at the Grundy Memorial Hospital, Grundy Center.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, at Stout Reformed Church. Rev. David Powers officiated. Interment was in the Stout Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bruce Adair, Kevin Adair, Nathan Adair, Kendal Buskohl, Matthew Buskohl and Brian Bergman.

Harold was born on Feb. 11, 1920, in Stout the son of Harm and Dena Miller Rademaker. Harold served in the United States Army during World War II.

On June 4, 1946, Harold was united in marriage to Iva Dean Hinders in Holland. They resided in Stout during their entire married life. Harold operated his own trucking business hauling livestock and grain for 37 years until his retirement in 1985. He also was a lay minister for many years.

Harold was an active and faithful member of the Stout Reformed Church in Stout. He served as Deacon and an Elder and also taught High School Sunday School for many years. Harold loved spending time with his family and looked forward to the family get togethers. He especially enjoyed watching Amy and Angie play volleyball in High School and College. Harold was an avid bowler and he liked to participate in various tournaments.

He is survived by his wife, Iva Dean; a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Andy Nielsen of Ankeny; two grandchildren, Amy and her husband Damon Miller of Brainerd, MN, and Angie Nielsen of Ankeny; two sisters, Carrie, Mrs. William Bergman of rural Dike and Lois Buskohl of Grundy Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harm and Dena Rademaker.
