Vivian Wiltfang Services Held

Vivian Wiltfang of Maple Manor Care Center, Aplington, formerly of Parkersburg, passed away Wednesday, June 11, at 1:30 p.m. at the Maple Manor Care Center from natural causes. She had reached the age of 77 years, 11 months and 17 days.

Funeral services were held on Monday, June 16, at 10:30 a.m. in the Reformed Church of Stout with Rev. Marvin Cleair officiating. Interment was in the Stout Cemetery.

Pallbearers were William Bergman, Delbert Kalkwarf, Alvin Wiese, Larry Bruhn, John Akkerman and John Bakker. Honorary pallbearer was Calvin Heyenga.

Vivian was born the daughter of Dewitt and Lida Slater Heilman on June 25, 1919, in New Hartford. She received her education in New Hartford and graduated from New Hartford High School in 1936.

On January 30, 1940, Vivian was united in marriage in her home to Herman Wiltfang. The couple lived on a farm southwest of New Hartford. In the spring of 1974, they moved to Parkersburg. Vivian became a resident of the Maple Manor Care Center on June 10, 1994.

Vivian was a member of the Reformed Church of Stout. She was a member of the Women's Fellowship at church and she taught Sunday School. Vivian was gifted at crocheting afghans. She enjoyed cooking, canning and taking care of the farm chores. Vivian was also an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman on March 16, 1995, and a sister, Harriet Wiltse.

Vivian is survived by 2 sons and their wives: Wayne and Joann Wiltfang of Waterloo and Dennis and Joyce Wiltfang of Bettendorf; 1 daughter and her husband, Leota and John Roskamp Lundahl of Largo, Florida; 1 sister and her husband, Celia and Richard Rodman of Denver, Colorado; 7 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

Schwartz Funeral Home, Parkersburg, was in charge of the arrangements.
