Florence Dilger Funeral Saturday

Mrs. Florence Dilger, age 76, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 1977 at the Community Nursing Home in Clarksville where she had resided for three weeks and one day. Mrs. Dilger had suffered from cancer for about eight weeks.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 1977, at the Reformed Church of Stout with Rev. Mark Volkers officiating. Interment was in the Stout cemetery.

The Schwartz-Engelkes Funeral Home of Parkersburg was in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Florence was born the daughter of John and Jennie Saltzer Cirksena on Nov. 4, 1900, rural Parkersburg. She attended the Stout school and worked as a clerk in the DeBeer and Ellinger Store in Stout before she was married.

Florence married Harvey Dilger on Jan. 4, 1923 in the home of the bride's parents, rural Parkersburg. They made their home in Stout and belonged to the Reformed Church of Stout. Mrs. Dilger was very active in her church, was a Sunday School teacher, organist, and member of the Ladies Guild for many years.

Mrs. Dilger is survived by her sister, Mrs. Dever (Margaret) Kort of Concord, Calif. and one brother, Frank Cirksena of Annapolis, Md., and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey, in 1965, and her parents.
