Fritz Eiklenborg Died Of Pneumonia

Funeral services for Fritz Eiklenborg, were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13 at the Reformed Church of Stout with Rev. Paul Tanis officiating. Mrs. Andy Nielsen sang "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "In The Garden" and Mrs. Bernard Schnell played the organ. Casketbearers were Gerald and William Bruns, Harvey and Donald Eiklenborg, Fred Muller and Jerry Aswegan. Interment was in the Stout cemetery. Engelkes Funeral Home in Parkersburg was in charge of the arrangements.

Fritz Eiklenborg, 77, died at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, February 10, 1976 from pneumonia at Allen Memorial hospital in Waterloo. He suffered a fractured hip on Nov. 3, 1975 and following surgery he was infected with pneumonia. He was a resident of Maple Manor in Aplington from November until January 22 when he was admitted to Allen hospital.

Fritz Fred Eiklenborg was born the son of Fred and Antje Wubben Eiklenborg on Feb. 6, 1899, near Stout in Grundy county. He married Dena Bruns on Dec. 18, 1919 in Grundy county, rural Dike. After their marriage they farmed in the Stout and New Hartford areas and moved to his present home in Stout in 1965 when he retired from farming. He was a member of the Reformed Church of Stout.

Mr. Eiklenborg is survived by two sons: Frank of rural Parkersburg, and Elmer of Dike; 4 sisters, Alice, Mrs. Dan Andreessen of Stout; Agnes, Mrs. Klaus Muller of Cedar Falls; Mary, Mrs. Henry Andreessen of Cedar Falls; and Annie Eiklenborg of the Roberts Nursing Home in Waterloo; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife in October of 1973, 3 brothers, 1 sister and 4 infant children.
