Fred Eiklenborg Died In Waverly

Fred Eiklenborg, who had been a resident of Grundy county 56 years, died Thursday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Martin Reiter, at Waverly. He was 84 years, 7 months and 29 days old.

Funeral services were held at one o'clock at the home in Stout on Tuesday and later at the Stout Reformed church. Rev. W. J. Heyenga conducted the services. Burial was beside the wife in the Stout cemetery.

Mr. Eiklenborg was born in Germany May 11, 1861. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Eiklenborg. He was married in Germany Oct. 18, 1880. The couple came to America 56 years ago and located on a farm in Beaver township. They retired from the farm and moved to Stout 30 years ago.

Surviving are eight children. They are Henry Eiklenborg, Allison; Mrs. Martin Reiter, Waverly; Mrs. Dan Andreessen, Stout; Mrs. Claus Miller, Dike; Mrs. Henry Andreessen, Cedar Falls; Fritz Eiklenborg, Parkersburg; Annie Eiklenborg, Stout, and Joe Eiklenborg, Aplington. There are 38 grandchildren. The wife and one son preceded him in death.
