F. Eiklenborg Jr. Died Saturday Of Pneumonia

It was with sorrow that people of this community heard Saturday of the death of Fred Eiklenborg Jr., although many of his friends realized that he was very ill. His death occurred Saturday afternoon about 1 o'clock at Allen Memorial hospital in Waterloo, where he had been under the care of physicians for two weeks. Death resulted from pneumonia and pleurisy.

Mr. Eiklenborg had been a resident of Beaver township since his youth.

Mr. Eiklenborg was born at Steamboat Rock, Iowa, February 14, 1891, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Eiklenborg Sr., now living in Stout. He was united in marriage to Miss Remka Andreessen, Feb. 23, 1916. Five children were born to this union: Vera, Harvey, Alma, Harold and Marlys.

Mr. Eiklenborg is survived by his widow and children, his aged parents, and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Martin Reiter, Janesville; Mrs. Claus Miller, of Dike; Mrs. Henry Andreessen, Cedar Falls; Mrs. Dan Andreessen, Stout; Henry, of Waverly; Joe, living south of Stout; and Anna at home. The deceased reached the age of 49 years, 1 months and 26 days.

Short services were held at the home southeast of Stout on Wednesday afternoon, and further services were held at the Reformed church in Stout, in charge of the pastor, Rev. W. J. Heyenga. Burial was in the Stout cemetery.

Mr. Eiklenborg was a faithful and loving husband and father, a good neighbor and friend, and his untimely demise will be keenly felt by his family and friends. He will also be missed in the Stout Reformed church, which he had served as trustee for a number of years, and always was a faithful attendant at divine services.
