Trientje "Trena" Henrietta Schnell, 102, of Stout died April 5, 2007, at the Maple Manor Village in Aplington. Funeral services were held April 10 at the Reformed Church of Stout. Interment was in the Stout Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Trena was born the daughter of Joe J. and Gertie Meester, on October 30, 1904. She grew up on a farm south of Parkersburg in Pleasant Valley Township, where she attended rural country school. Trena was united in marriage with Thees "Ted" B. Schnell on February 22, 1938. After getting married she and her husband farmed west of Dike.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Schnell; her parents; two brothers, Jacob C. and Herman H. Meester; and five sisters, Annie Buskohl, Bena Wolters, Henrietta Luhring, Martha Eilderts and Esther Hemmen.

Trena is survived by three sons, Bernard (Elaine), Johannes "Joe" (Bea) and Clarence "Eddy" (Linda) of Grundy Center; one daughter, Marie (Glenn) Patterson; two sisters, Lydia Kolder and Ruth (Clarence) Claassen of Grundy Center; one sister-in-law, Lena Meester; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
