Harold W. Meester, 87, of Parkersburg, died December 17 at the Grundy Care Center, Grundy Center. Funeral services were December 20 at the Reformed Church of Stout. Military rites were conducted by the Parkersburg American Legion Post #285. Burial was in the Stout Cemetery.

Harold was born the son of Will and Ida (Agena) Meester on January 16, 1916. He received his education from a country school near his home.

During World War II, Harold enlisted in the United States Army. He was stationed in Belgium, France and Germany for four years, where his primary duty was a cook. Harold worked all his life as a farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, one a twin brother; and three sisters.

Harold is survived by several nieces and nephews.
