Rites Held For Harvey Meester
Harvey Meester, R2, Parkersburg, passed away at 10:10 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 1986, at Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center, after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was admitted about two hours earlier. He reached the age of 70 years, 3 months and 3 days.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 23 in the Reformed Church of Stout with Pastor Don Ringnalda officiating. Mrs. Thelma Bass was the organist and Marlys Konken and Charles Juel sang "How Great Thou Art" and "When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder."
Casketbearers were Lowell Andreessen, LaVerne Andreessen, Rolland Hartman, Rodney Hartman, Delbert Kalkwarf and Roger Renken.
Interment was in the Stout cemetery.
Harvey was born the son of Will and Ida Agena Meester on January 16, 1916, in Grundy county, south of Parkersburg. He attended rural school near his home. He resided his entire life at his present home, with his twin brother, Harold.
Harvey farmed and was presently semi-retired. He was a life-long member of the Reformed Church of Stout, and was presently serving as clerk of Pleasant Valley Township, Grundy county.
He is survived by his 2 brothers, Jake G. Meester of Parkersburg, and his twin brother, Harold Meester of R2, Parkersburg, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 infant brothers, 2 infant sisters, and 3 sisters, Mrs. Anna H. Renken, Mrs. Emma Andreessen, and Mrs. Esther Hartman.
Schwartz-Engelkes Funeral Home of Parkersburg was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
