Mrs. Abram Roelse Dies Following Fall And Hip Fracture

Funeral services for Mrs. Abram Roelse of Austinville were held Wednesday afternoon at the West Friesland Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Norman Flink officiating. Prayer services for the family were held in the family home immediately preceding. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Roelse was born Haukea (Hattie) Harken, the daughter of Reent and Annie Harken, October 2, 1875, in Forreston, Illinois.

Her death occurred Monday in Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo where she had been taken Friday following a fall in which she fractured a hip.

She was married February 20, 1913, to Abram Roelse, by the Rev. Agena, pastor of the West Friesland Church. They farmed for 16 years near Austinville, and for the past 30 years have lived in Austinville.

Mr. and Mrs. Roelse became members of the West Friesland Church in 1914.

Surviving are her husband, a sister, Mrs. William Muller of Ackley, two brothers, Corneal of Ackley and Ben of Waterloo. Preceding her in death were three brothers, Klaas, Isbrandt and John.
