Henry Finger Services Held

Henry F. Finger, 95, of Ackley, passed away at the Presbyterian Village, Ackley, on Wednesday, December 4.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 7, at West Friesland Presbyterian Church at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Randy Crane officiating. Interment followed in church cemetery.

Born September 28, 1901, in Ackley, Henry was the son of Frank and Pieterje (Zwagerman) Finger. He attended country schools.

On November 26, 1923, Henry was united in marriage to Hanna Boelman in rural Ackley. Henry farmed the same ground for 70 years.

Henry was a member of the West Friesland Presbyterian Church in rural Ackley.

Survivors include 1 daughter, Dorothy DeVries and husband, Paul of Ackley; 1 sister, Anna DeVries of Wellsburg, 4 grandsons, Rod DeVries and his wife, Barb, Rick DeVries, and his wife, Julie, both of Forest City, Duane DeVries and his wife, Deb of Ackley, and Harold Sinning, and his wife, Michela of St. Paul, Minnesota; 1 granddaughter, Darla Steding, and her husband, Gary of Steamboat Rock; 8 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a daughter, Johanna George; his parents; 4 brothers; and 5 sisters.

The Brandt-Fritz Funeral Home, Ackley, was in charge of the arrangements.
