Rites Held For Adele M. Knock

Adele M. Knock, age 65, of Wellsburg, Iowa, passed away Sunday, May 15, 1988 at the Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa, from an extended illness.

Funeral services were held at the Wellsburg Reformed Church, Wellsburg, Iowa, at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 18, 1988. The Rev. Roger D. Huitink was the officiating clergyman.

The Rev. and Mrs. Roger D. Huitink sang two selections, "Just As I Am" and "Where The Roses Never Fade." They were accompanied by Marcella Neessen, who also played the Prelude and the Postlude on the organ.

Casket bearers were Wayne Blythe, Gene Venenga, Dale Vry, Terry Aalfs, Gene Blythe and Ron Okones.

Flower ladies were Mrs. Gary James and Mrs. John Boekhoff.

Ushers were John Ruter and Dale Murray.

Burial was in the Wellsburg Reformed Church cemetery.

Adele M. Knock was born on May 17, 1922 in rural Shiloh Township, Wellsburg, Iowa to Anna Eekhoff and John H. Ruter.

She married Wilbur Knock on September 4, 1940 in the First Christian Reformed Church, Wellsburg, Iowa.

Adele and her husband farmed southeast of Wellsburg after their marriage, until 1978 when they moved into Wellsburg.

Adele attended the Shiloh rural schools.

She was preceded in death by her father John H. Ruter.

She is survived by her husband, Wilbur; a daughter Jane (Mrs. Lloyd) Bos of Council Bluffs, Iowa; a son Allen of Waterloo, Iowa; her mother Anna Ruter of Grundy Center, Iowa; six grandchildren, Sidney, Billy, Ada and Daniel Bos and Shannon and Joshua Knock; and a sister Grace Blythe of Wellsburg, Iowa.

A memorial fund has been established.

The Doyen-Abels Funeral Home of Wellsburg was in charge of arrangements.
