Rites Held For Anna Nederhoff
Anna Nederhoff passed away on May 16 at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, of an apparent heart attack. She reached the age of 86 years.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, at the Wellsburg First Christian Reformed Church, Wellsburg, with the Rev. Thomas J. Voss officiating.
Emma Bakker was organist and Karen Meyer was pianist. The vocal group "The Messengers" provided vocal selections. Ushers were Al Eiten and Meint Bakker.
Pallbearers were Dan Nederhoff, Kent Boyenga, Tim Small, Scott Nederhoff, Bill Noteboom, and Don Phillips.
Anna Heikens Nederhoff was born August 31, 1901, to Julius and Henrietta Meyer Heikens on a farm west of Wellsburg. She received her education in the rural schools of the area.
On February 14, 1929, she was united in marriage to Henry E. Nederhoff at the Little Brown Church. To this union, two daughters and one son were born.
She was a long time member of the First Christian Reformed Church of rural Wellsburg, having made her profession of faith in early adulthood.
She was also a member of the Ladies Guild.
They farmed for 30 years on their farm northwest of Wellsburg. In 1959 they moved to Ackley to the place she lived until her death.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry in 1960, her daughter, Leola Boyenga in 1984, her parents, five brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by one daughter, Genevieve Sautner, Citrus Heights, CA; one son, Melvin Nederhoff, Steamboat Rock, and son-in-law, Edward Boyenga; one daughter-in-law, Lucille Nederhoff; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Brandt & Fritz Funeral Home of Ackley was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
