Rites Held For Cornelia Rust
Mrs. Cornelia M. Rust, age 59, of rural Wellsburg, passed away suddenly at her home of an apparent heart attack on Wednesday, June 8.
Funeral services were held at the Wellsburg Reformed Church, Wellsburg, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 11. The Rev. Roger D. Huitink was the officiating clergyman.
Rev. and Mrs. Roger Huitink sang "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "In The Garden," and the congregation sang "Rock Of Ages." The accompanist was Mrs. Harvin Meyer, who also played selected numbers for the prelude and postlude.
The casket bearers were Daniel Hepner, Leslie Ubben, Larry Ubben, Sabel Steenstra, Arnold J. Flater, and Harvin Rust.
Ushers were Irwin Abels and Jake Paterni. Marcella Neessen and Ann Murra were in charge of the floral arrangements.
Interment was in the Wellsburg Reformed Church Cemetery.
Cornelia M. Rust was born on July 10, 1928, at Edgerton, MN, to Cora Dooyema and John Steenstra.
She married John M. Rust on March 14, 1955, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.
She and her husband John farmed their farm until ill health forced them to retire, but they remained in their home on the farm.
Cornelia attended schools in Leota, MN, and Ag School in Minneapolis, MN.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Cora.
She is survived by her husband, her father, a sister, Agnes Hepner, of Sioux Falls, SD, two brothers, Harold and Floyd Steenstra of Holland, MN, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established.
The Doyen-Abels Funeral Home of Wellsburg was in charge of the arrangements.
