Henrietta Janssen Dies Suddenly

Was Sick With Appendicitis Less Than A Week

Henrietta Janssen died at the hospital in Eldora, Saturday about 11 o'clock. On Monday before that time she was taken sick with appendicitis. A doctor treated her case and she was able to be up again Wednesday and Thursday. Friday night she was taken dangerously sick again. The attending physician decided upon an operation but upon examination it was found that the case had advanced too far and that an operation would bring no relief.

Henrietta Janssen was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Janssen of Shiloh township. She was born and raised here and if she had lived until next January she would have been fourteen years old. Henrietta was a lovable girl who had a friend in all who knew her. Her sudden death came as a shock to the community. The deceased is survived by her father and mother, five sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services were held at the Rev. Hoefker church Wednesday afternoon and there was an unusually large attendance.

Auko Janssen, a brother from Kanawah, and a sister, Mrs. Frank Schwirtz from Bellevue, Iowa, were among the relatives from a distance who were here at the funeral.
