Obituary of Gerd Anton DeBuhr

Gerd Anton DeBuhr was born in Oldersum, Ostfriesland, June 4, 1847, and died at his home in Colfax township Monday, Dec. 4, 1905, aged 58 years and nine months.

In 1874 he was united in holy matrimony to Tina Schneiderman and in 1884 he removed with his family to America and settled near Wellsburg in which vicinity he has since made his home.

Their union was blessed by five daughters. He leaves a wife and four daughters, Mrs. J. Stoehr, Mrs. J. Lutterman, Annie and Grace to mourn his loss besides a large host of relatives.

Funeral services were held at the German Lutheran church Friday afternoon conducted by Rev. C. Heinrich on the text Luke 12:35-40.

The death of G. DeBuhr came as a shock throughout the community. He had been in ill health for a number of years and under the doctor's care for several months and seemed to be improving. Monday when Mr. and Mrs. J. Stoehr visited there he went out doors with them and felt much stronger than of late when suddenly he began to feel bad and had just reached his armchair when he expired. The family have the sympathy of all by the sudden bereavement.
