Tile Huisman died at his home east of town last Wednesday afternoon. He was buried Saturday at the Heinrichs church cemetery, the funeral being attended by a large number of friends and all the children of the deceased except two. Tile Huisman was born in Simonswolde, Ostfriesland, 70 years ago, and came to this county 40 years ago where he has since resided and where he raised a large family. His wife died several years ago and he has since been living with his son Henry on the farm east of town. He was the father of six boys and one girl, Jake of Chicago, Poppe of Nebraska, George of Lyon county, Fike of Little Rock, Henry of this township, Tile of Holland and Mrs. U. B. Meinders of Aplington.

Death of Teil Huisman
Teil Huisman died at his home in Shiloh township last Wednesday night from old age. He was confined to his bed about three weeks. Funeral services were held at the house at one o'clock Saturday and at the Lutheran church in Shiloh township at two o'clock. Rev. Heinrichs officiated.
Mr. Huisman was 79 years and eight months old. He was born in Ostfriesland, Germany and came to this country and to Grundy county thirty-five years ago. He lived here continually since. His wife died twenty-three years ago.
Mr. Huisman was the father of ten children who are alive. Of this number three are girls and seven are boys.
The girls are Mrs. Itzen, of Sibley; Mrs. Hendricks, of Little Rock; and Mrs. Meinders, of Aplington. The sons are Jacob, of Chicago; Teil, of Holland; George, of Spencer; Poppe, of Nebraska; Gerhart, of Sibley; Fike, of Osceola county; and Henry, who lives in this county. All the children excepting Mrs. Itjen, Gerhart and Fike attended the funeral. Mrs. Itzen being unable to come, her husband came in her place.

Obituary of Teil G. Huismann
Teil G. Huismann was born at Elorvehn, Ostfriesland, Germany, Feb. 10, 1826, and died Nov. 1, 1905, at the age of 79 years, 8 months, 21 days.
He was the youngest child of a large family and made his home with his parents until at the age of 27, when he united in marriage to Tettje Fisher, and resided near their old homestead until in 1875 when they removed to Grundy County, Iowa.
Thirteen children were born to bless their union, eight sons and five daughters.
The children who survive their aged father are Popke of Nebraska, George of South Dakota, Fike of George, Iowa, Mrs. H. Hinrichs, Mrs. H. Echen, and G. Huismann of Lyon County, J. Huismann of Chicago, T. Huisman of Holland, Mrs. U. Meinders, Jr. of Aplington and Henry.
The wife and mother died 23 years ago when some of the children were very young and the oldest girls at 12 took their mothers' place in taking care of the family. The father and children stayed together on the farm until all one by one left the parental roof except Henry who faithfully stayed at home and became his dearest companion.
He did not know of sickness and suffering during life's pilgrimage. He died with a clear mind and was not afraid to depart.
Funeral service was held at the German Lutheran church at 2 o'clock p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, Rev. C. Heinrich officiating and the remains were laid to rest beside the wife and mother in the German Lutheran Cemetery.
