Mrs. Pearl Eekhoff Died Monday
Mrs. Pearl Eekhoff, who was born in Freeport, Illinois, August 10, 1880, died here at her home in Wellsburg at 8 a.m. Monday, April 7, 1958, at the age of 77 years, 7 months and 27 days. At the age of three she moved with her parents to Wellsburg. She was married to Henry O. Nederhoff in May of 1899. Mr. Nederhoff died January 11, 1922. To this union was born three sons, Odie H., Peter H. and Carl J. of Wellsburg. There are eight grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She married John Eekhoff in 1927 and he passed away in 1945. She is survived by her three sons, four sisters, Helen, Mrs. Anko Janssen of Marshalltown; Martha, Mrs. John M. Bakker, Steamboat Rock; Anna, Mrs. John Ruter of Wellsburg; and Grace, Mrs. Adolph Deters of Wellsburg. Two brothers also survive. They are Peter P. Eekhoff, Steamboat Rock and Henry Eekhoff of Kanawha, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Henry O. Nederhoff and her second husband, John Eekhoff, two sisters, Mrs. Claus Ruter and Mrs. Ben Ruter and by one brother, Boyd Eekhoff.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. at the home and then at the First Christian Reformed Church of Wellsburg. Reverend Bernard Visscher officiated.
Flower attendants were Miss Jessie Ruter and Mrs. James deNeui. Music was furnished by a Men's Quartet, Claus G. Primus, Harvey Eiten, Willis Bakker, and Alfred Eiten. Mrs. Arthur Cooper was organist. Casketbearers were Henry O. Nederhoff, George P. Nederhoff, Arthur L. Nederhoff, Arnold L. Nederhoff, Marvin D. Nederhoff and Roger D. Nederhoff. Ushers were Carl Janssen and Harry Eekhoff.
Interment was made in the First Christian Reformed Church Cemetery.
