Obituary of Alle J. Eertmoed

Alle J. Eertmoed, son of John and Anna Eertmoed, was born in Shiloh Township, Grundy County, Iowa about four and 1/2 miles west of Wellsburg, on July 6, 1881.

It was on February 28, 1907 that he was united in marriage to Gepka Riekena. Their married life was begun on a farm in Clay Township, Hardin County close to Cleves where he spent the rest of his years farming.

He entered the Eldora Memorial hospital on June 1st and remained till June 7; after four days spent at home he was readmitted to the hospital on June 11 where he passed away on June 18, 1956 at 4:50 p.m. at the age of 74 years, 11 months, 12 days. He was a member of the First Christian Reformed church of Wellsburg.

He leaves to mourn his departure, three sons; Jan, Albert, and Ben, one daughter; Grace, all at home; two sisters, Mrs. C. C. Doolard of Steamboat Rock and Mrs. Florence Lindaman of Wellsburg. Preceding him in death are his wife who passed away July 6, 1929, his parents, one brother and one sister.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock at the home and later at the First Christian Reformed church with services in charge of Rev. Raymond Graves of Iowa Falls and Rev. Edward Mohr of Steamboat Rock. Pall bearers were Phillip Snittjer, Ernest Kruse, Darrell Bleeker, Albert Kies, John R. Freese and Obbie Harms.
