Wife Of Former Minister Here Died Sunday
Mrs. Wilhemine L. Hoefker, wife of the late Christian Reformed minister, Rev. Gerhard L. Hoefker, died at Waupon Memorial hospital at Waupon, Wisconsin, Sunday afternoon. Death came following a brief illness. She had been at the hospital since May 11. Since October 1955 she had been living at the Christian Home for the Aged at Waupon and previous to this she had been at the home of a daughter in Indianapolis, Indiana.
On February 15, 1881, the deceased was born in Ridott, Illinois. She was united in marriage to the Rev. Gerhard L. Hoefker on May 28, 1900. The Hoefkers served congregations in German Valley, Illinois; Emden, Minnesota, also at Wellsburg and Kanawha until the death of Rev. Hoefker in 1925.
Survivors include Carl G. Hoefker of Bettendorf, Iowa, two daughters, Adelle W. Cook, missionary in Abqaiq Saudi Arabia, and Anna P. Koopman of Hazelton, Iowa. Three sisters who survive are Mrs. Jennie Meldrof of Winnebago, Illinois, Mrs. Stella Klinger of Peckatonica, Illinois and Mrs. Inez Russon of Indianapolis, Indiana. There are also six grandchildren.
The deceased was preceded in death by her husband, 1 son and 1 brother.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 7 at the First Christian Reformed church at 10 a.m. with Rev. Bernard Visscher officiating. Burial will be at the First Christian Reformed Church cemetery.
