Mrs. Boyd Eckhoff Dies At Hospital; Burial Wednesday

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the home and later in the First Christian Reformed Church for Mrs. Boyd Eckhoff, who died at 12:35 a.m. Sunday in the Grundy County Memorial Hospital.

Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. John Olthoff took charge of the service.

Mrs. Eckhoff had been in failing health for some time. She fell and broke her hip Sept. 15 and was taken to the hospital where she passed away early Sunday morning.

Obituary
Mrs. Boyd Eckhoff, nee Flora Ruter, was born April 13, 1874, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hemme Ruter in Shiloh township. She was 81 years old at the time of her death.

She and Boyd Eckhoff were married March 12, 1896 at the home of the bride's parents with Rev. Bode, an uncle of the groom, performing the ceremony. The couple lived on their farm a mile west and two miles south of Wellsburg throughout their married lives.

They observed their golden wedding anniversary together in 1946. The following year Mr. Eckhoff passed on.

Surviving are five children; Peter B. Eckhoff, Gertrude (Mrs. Fred Eiten), Jennie (Mrs. Lubert Meyer), and Jessie Eckhoff, all of Wellsburg, and Edith (Mrs. Peter Luppen) of Kanawha.

Mrs. Eckhoff also had nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In addition, two sisters survive; Helen Ruter of Wellsburg and Mrs. Gus Sanders, West Bend.
