Mrs. C. B. Janssen Buried Tuesday in W'burg Cemetery

Funeral services for Mrs. Claus B. Janssen of Steamboat Rock were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the First Christian Reformed Church. Rev. Harold Hollander officiated at the services. Miss Elizabeth Eekhoff was organist. A men's quartet, Harvey Eiten, Alfred Eiten, Willis Bakker and Claus G. Primus sang two selections accompanied by Mrs. Claus G. Primus.

Flower attendants were Mrs. Ben Jaspers and Mrs. Julia Johnson. Pall bearers were Calvin Schneck, Frederic Fisher, David Primus, George Janssen, John Janssen and Claus A. Janssen.

Mrs. Janssen, nee Ida Fischer, passed away Saturday at the Iowa Falls hospital, having attained the age of 69 years, one month, and 24 days.

She was born on November 12, 1897 on a farm east of Cleves in Clay Township, Hardin County, Iowa to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fischer. On October 6, 1920 she was united in marriage to Claus B. Janssen. The couple lived on farms at Wellsburg, Eldora and Steamboat Rock. For the past twenty years they have lived in Steamboat Rock.

The deceased was baptized and made confession of her faith in the East Friesland Presbyterian Church. Since her marriage she has been a member of the First Christian Reformed Church.

Those who survive her are her husband, also a daughter, Ann, Mrs. Wm. J. Noteboom of Kalamazoo, Michigan and a son, Alfred of Steamboat Rock. There are also ten grandchildren. Two brothers, Julius Fisher of Ackley and Alfred Fisher of Wellsburg and three sisters, Marie, Mrs. Wm. Schneck of Jefferson, Martha, Mrs. George Primus of Steamboat Rock and Freda, Mrs. Alfred Boll of Albert Lea, Minn., also survive.

Preceding the deceased in death were her parents, two brothers, John and Joe and a sister, Nettie.

Interment was made in the First Christian Reformed Church cemetery.
