Services Held Here for Hemmo Eckhoff

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. for Hemmo Eckhoff, at the First Christian Reformed Church west of Wellsburg. He died Saturday at Long's Nursing Home in Iowa Falls at the age of 78 years.

Rev. Harold Hollander officiated at the services. Miss Elizabeth Eekhoff was organist. Mrs. David Miller was flower attendant. Pallbearers were Manley Bakker, Herman P. Ruter, Arend G. Eckhoff, Edward Eckhoff, Gerald Bakker and Claus G. Primus. Interment was made in the First Christian Reformed Church cemetery.

Hemmo Eckhoff was the son of Henry Eckhoff and Helena Bakker. He was born on Feb. 23, 1892 near Steamboat Rock in Grundy County, Iowa and most of his life was spent in and around Steamboat Rock, except for 7 years in Minnesota and the last 4 years he stayed at Long's Nursing Home at Iowa Falls.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Marie Caspers of Clara City, Minn. Four brothers, Henry, Peter, Arend, Theodore and Eilert preceded him in death. Also his parents, one sister, Jennie, who passed away as a young girl.

Mr. Eckhoff was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church.
