Services For Mrs. Leola Boyenga, 54

Funeral services for Mrs. Leola Boyenga were held Tuesday, June 5, 1984 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Christian Reformed Church. Pastor Michael Facciani of the Word of Faith Outreach Center of Waterloo officiated at the services.

Pastor Facciani and Alfred Eiten each sang a solo. Miss Elizabeth Eekhoff was organist.

Pallbearers were Ronald Carleton, Ernest Ray Bean, Jr., Alvin Boyenga, Arthur Bodecker, Dan Nederhoff, and Scott Nederhoff. The interment service was held in the First Christian Reformed Church cemetery.

Doyen Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Boyenga passed away Saturday afternoon, June 2, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo due to a respiratory ailment. She entered the hospital for treatment on Tuesday, May 29th. She reached the age of 54 years, 2 months and 6 days.

She was born Leola Hilda Nederhoff on March 26, 1930, on a farm in Hardin county, rural Steamboat Rock, the daughter of Henry E. and Anna (Heikens) Nederhoff.

She attended the rural school in the area and was graduated from the Steamboat Rock high school with the class of 1947.

On September 24, 1965 she was married to Edward Boyenga at the home of her mother in Ackley. Following their marriage they made their home in Waterloo where they have since resided. This union was blessed with a son, Kent, and a daughter, Cindy.

Leola was a member of the Word of Faith Outreach Center in Waterloo.

Prior to her marriage she worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Okones Implement Co., in Wellsburg, and later at Kinsey Chevrolet in Iowa Falls. For the past six years she had been employed at the Chamberlain Corporation in Waterloo.

Preceding her in death was her father, Henry E. Nederhoff.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Boyenga; a son, Kent, and a daughter, Cindy, both at home; her mother, Mrs. Anna Nederhoff of Ackley; a sister, Genevieve Sautner of Citrus Heights, CA; a brother, Melvin Nederhoff of Steamboat Rock; and many other relatives and friends.
