Rites Held for Jessie Eiten

Jessie Eiten was born on March 7, 1901, in Shiloh township in Grundy County, IA, and passed away Monday, April 27, 1987, at the Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, IA. She attained the age of 86 years, one month and 20 days.

She was the daughter of Boyd and Flora Ruter Eekhoff. She grew up on the family farm in Shiloh township and attended a rural school in Shiloh township.

On April 7, 1958, she was united in marriage to Ben Eiten in Wellsburg, IA.

She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Wellsburg.

Mrs. Eiten was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ben in 1963; one brother Peter Eekhoff and one sister Edith Luppen.

She is survived by two sons, Harvey Eiten and Alfred Eiten both of Wellsburg; one daughter, Lillian Eiten of Concord, CA; two sisters, Mrs. Fred (Gertrude) Eiten and Mrs. Lubert (Jennie) Meyer, both of Wellsburg; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the First Christian Reformed Church, rural Wellsburg, IA, on April 30 at 1:30 p.m. Reverend Thomas J. Vos officiated.

Richard Schafer sang "Great Is Thy Faithfulness," and the congregation sang "What A Friend We Have In Jesus." The accompanist was Mrs. Jack Bakker, who also played selected numbers for the prelude and postlude.

The casket bearers were Philip Luppen, Curtis Eiten, Floyd Eiten, Harold Eiten, Edward Nederhoff and Boyd Meyer.

The ushers were David Miller and Roy Luiken. Mrs. Ben G. Geerdes and Mrs. Carl J. Nederhoff were in charge of the floral arrangements.

Interment was in the First Christian Reformed Church Cemetery, rural Wellsburg.

The Doyen-Abels Funeral Home in Wellsburg was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
