Rites Held For Glenn Alexander

Glenn Alexander, 48, of Wellsburg, formerly of Chicago, passed away Saturday, May 27, at the Meriter-Park Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, of heart failure.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 31, at the First Baptist Church in Steamboat Rock at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mike Lerud officiating. Burial followed in the First Christian Reformed Church cemetery, rural Wellsburg.

Pallbearers were Jim Geerdes, Ron Boelts, Jim Kramer, Bob Heglund, Allan Alexander and Dan Kraiss.

A memorial fund has been established.

Glenn was born on March 24, 1947, the son of Albert and Elsie (Oswald) Alexander. On July 14, 1973, he was united in marriage with Diane Lenckus in Tucson, Arizona. To this union two daughters and one son were born, Miriam, Heather and Aaron.

Glenn was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Amvets in Cedar Falls. He served in the Vietnam War from September 1966 to August 1968 as a tank commander and was Director of Veteran's Club at Western Illinois University.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Charles.

Survivors include his wife, Diane of Wellsburg; 2 daughters, Miriam and Heather, both at home; 1 son, Aaron at home; mother, Elsie of Chicago, Illinois; 1 brother, Allan (Joan) of Frankfurt, Illinois; 1 sister, Lynnette (Robert) Heglund of Naperville, Illinois.

The Doyen-Abels Funeral Home in Wellsburg was in charge of the professional arrangements.
