BOYENGA, BLEEKER, NEDERHOFF

WATERLOO--Ed Boyenga, 71, of Waterloo, died on Tuesday, October 14, 2003, at the Covenant Medical Center.

Funeral services were held on Friday, October 17, at the Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Waterloo, with burial in the First Christian Reformed Church Cemetery in Wellsburg. Military rites were conducted at the church by the American Legion Post No. 138 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1623.

Ed was born on June 12, 1932, to Edward and Tena (Bleeker) Boyenga at Faulkner. He graduated from the Ackley High School and attended Ellsworth Junior College. Ed served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In 1965, he married Leola Nederhoff in Wellsburg. Ed was employed by Chamberlain Manufacturing Co. until its closing.

Survivors include one daughter, Cindy Phillips and husband, Donald of Belle Plaine; one son, Kent Boyenga and wife, Jennifer Terry-Boyenga of Ottumwa; four grandchildren; two sisters, Marion Bodecker of Waterloo and Betty Wilkens and husband, James, of Marshalltown; and two brothers, Arlyss Boyenga of Caballa, New Mexico and Alvin Boyenga of Ackley.

The Locke Funeral Home of Waterloo, was in charge of the arrangements.
