Obituary--Mattie B. Marble

Mattie B. Marble, the daughter of William and Jeanette Marble, was born at Columbus, Ohio, Sept. 25, 1852. Her father was a Congregational minister. He held a pastorate in Waterloo, and organized the Congregation church in Grundy Center, in 1872, preaching in the old court House Sunday afternoon. Miss Marble followed the profession of teaching for some years, serving acceptably in the capacity of teacher in the community. In years past she was well known and highly esteemed in this vicinity and many persons will hold her in grateful remembrance. Miss marble was ever a faithful and consistent Christian. She died June 21, 1917, at the age of 64 years, 8 months and 27 days. She leaves two brothers and three sisters, Walter of St. Louis, William of New York City, Flora of St. Louis, Carrie of Two Harbors, Minn., and Mrs. Jessie Watt of Two Harbors, Minn.

The funeral service, conducted by Rev. L. P. Krome, was held at the home of Mrs. Will, last Sunday morning at nine o'clock. Interment in local cemetery.
