W. C. Williams Passed Away During Night

Early Settler and One of Oldest Grundy Residents Was Found Dead in His Bed

Had Been Ill For Some Months

Funeral Service Was Held From the Late Home This Afternoon, Rev. Smith in Charge

W. C. Williams, one of the Grundy pioneers and a resident of the county and town nearly fifty years, was found dead in bed Monday morning, the end having come quietly during the night, all indications pointing to a quiet and peaceful end for him. Mr. Williams had been ill for several months, having reached the age of over 84 years, and the end was not entirely unexpected. His condition was quite serious for a while and it was not expected that he would live but he rallied and was considerably better. However, the general breakdown of age had gotten its hold upon his system and the end came as noted above.

Mr. Williams is survived by Mrs. Williams and two daughters, Mrs. Raymond of Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Harry Hayes of Nebraska.

The funeral service was held this afternoon from the late home, Rev. Dilman Smith of the Methodist church being in charge. Burial was made in the cemetery west of town.

The obituary will be published later.
