Donald Davidson Passes Away

Death Relieves Him of His Suffering Tuesday Eve.

Mrs. Donald Davidson, one of our widely known and highly respected citizens, passed away about 5:30 Tuesday evening, October 21st, 1919, at his home in this city, surrounded by members of his family.

Mr. Davidson has been in poor health since last June, but he had not been confined to his bed more than a week previous to his death.

Mr. Davidson was born in Ontario, Canada, and was 71 years old August 10th last. He leaves besides his wife, five sons and one daughter, and one brother in Canada and one in California.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. J. C. Curry, of the Baptist church.

Obituary of D. Davidson

Donald Davidson was born in Galt, Ontario, August 10, 1848, and died at his home in Grundy Center, Oct. 21, 1919, being at the time of his death 71 years, 2 months and 11 days of age.

He was married to Janet Fraser Sept. the 14th, 1873.

In 1876 they came from Canada to Tama county, Iowa, where they lived for one year, coming to Clay township, Grundy county in 1877.

In 1891 he moved to the farm in Palermo township where he resided until 1913 when he retired to Grundy Center.

He leaves to mourn his departure his wife and six children, Allen of Nashua, Will of Floyd, John of Plainfield, James of Eldora, Bert on the home farm, Minnie at home, besides 12 grandchildren. Also two brothers, James of Woodstock, Ont., and William of Alhambra, Calif.

Funeral services were held from his late home Friday afternoon, Oct. 24th, conducted by Rev. J. C. Curry.
