Wife of the Late Jeff Morrison Passes Away Oct. 24th

Mrs. Caroline Gahring Morrison passed away late Friday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Isaac Hasbrouck, one mile east of this city. She had been gradually failing in health since receiving the first stroke of paralysis about five years ago and for the last year had required constant attendance. She was born in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, September 2nd, 1842, and was therefore a little over 77 years of age. She was married on February 5th, 1863 to Isaiah Morrison and to them were born 10 children, six of whom are living. They are George, William, Albert, Mrs. Viola Hasbrouck and Harry, all living in or near this city, and J. Code, residing at Garner, Iowa. The family left their native state and came west, arriving in Grundy county in the month of April, 1872, and locating on a farm 2 1/2 miles east of Grundy Center. Here the husband and father died in the year 1887. In 1895, she was married to Jefferson Morrison and soon thereafter removed to this city which has ever since been their home. Her second husband preceded her in death a little over a month ago. One sister, living in Omaha, survives her. Mrs. Morrison became a Christian in early life and joined the Methodist Episcopal church and ever sought to be true to the teachings and life of the Master. She leaves a large circle of friends who will ever cherish her memory.

Relatives and friends from out of town present at the funeral were: Mrs. J. H. Berger (sister), Omaha; R. Y. Berger, Waterloo; Frank E. Hyatt, Sioux City; J. Code Morrison and his wife, Garner, Iowa; Glenn Morrison, Austin, Minnesota.
