Services Wednesday For Cora Smith

Services for Mrs. Cora D. Smith, 93, of Friendship Village Retirement Center, Waterloo, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home in Waterloo with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Grundy Center.

She died Monday night at the retirement center.

Mrs. Smith was born May 31, 1890 at Grundy Center, the daughter of Henry and Luella Cole Dilly. She graduated from Grundy Center high school in 1909, after which she attended Iowa State University and Teachers College in Cedar Falls.

She was united in marriage to George F. Smith on October 5, 1925 at Oak Park, IL. He died in 1944.

She is survived by a stepson, Kempton Smith of Long Beach, CA and a step-grandchild and two step-great-grandchildren.

The casket will not be open.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith owned and operated the Corner Drug Store in Grundy Center for many years.
