Rites Saturday For Mrs. Harris Dickey
Mrs. Harris Dickey, 82, of Ames, died suddenly Wednesday, November 14, at St. Petersburg, Fla.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dickey were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Adams Funeral Home in Ames, with the Rev. James L. Dotson and Rev. Cecil A. Wells of the First United Methodist Church, Ames, officiating.
Burial was in Grundy Center cemetery.
Casket bearers were Donald O. Anderson, Raymond R. Beneke, James M. Buck, Byrl D. Houck, R. A. Norton, and Arthur A. Porter. Mrs. Charles Fullhart was organist. Eastern Star services were conducted by members of Lajra Chapter No. 115.
Mrs. Dickey was born May 4, 1897, in Cleghorn, Iowa, the daughter of Charles M. and Cora Ashley King.
She was a member of the First United Methodist church and was active in many clubs and organizations including Laura Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, Judea White Shrine, the Daughters of the American Revolution, Chapter O of TTT, and Society of Mayflower Descendants.
Survivors include her husband, Harris E. Dickey of Ames; one son, Charles E. Dickey, Mason City; one brother, Lowell S. King, Hatfield, Ark.; one sister, Gretchen King, Pleasant Hill, Tenn., three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
