Mrs. Everett Bleeker Died

Mrs. Everett (Grace) Bleeker Sr., 60, died Saturday noon, September 22, 1979 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Waukon.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home. Rev. Calvin W. Vanderwerf of the Bethany Presbyterian Church officiated. Mrs. James Willms sang "The Lord's Prayer" and "How Great Thou Art". Pall Bearers were Lee Thoren, Harry Ascher, Elky DeVries, Henry J. Meester, Carl Dudden and Edward Flater. Mrs. Bill Harken and Mrs. Jim Pieters were floral attendants. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery, Grundy Center.

She was born May 3, 1919 at Aplington, Iowa, the daughter of Claus and Etta Brower Behrends. She was married to Everett L. Bleeker December 11, 1942 in Grundy Center. They lived in Waterloo several years, then farmed near Dike, and later moved to Cedar Falls where they lived 18 years. In April 1977 they moved to Lansing, Iowa. She had lived at the Nursing Home in Waukon the past six months.

Mrs. Bleeker is survived by her husband, two sons, Richard of Cedar Falls, Everett Jr. of Postville, three daughters, Joyce Bleeker and Mrs. Coleen Rosauer of Cedar Falls, Mrs. Stephen (Renetta) Betz of Waterloo, three brothers, Claus Behrends of Muscatine, Marlin and Warren Behrends of Waterloo, one sister, Mrs. William (Margaret) Gifford of Sioux City, her mother, Mrs. Etta Behrends Bunger, Wellsburg, and three grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established.
