Funeral Here Monday For Jennie Grimmius

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Bethany Presbyterian Church for Mrs. Jennie Grimmius, 88, who died at her home in Grundy Center Thursday evening of an apparent heart attack.

Rev. Calvin Vanderwerf officiated. Mrs. James Willms was soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Raymond Appel. Pall bearers were Kenneth Mutch, Gale Folkerts, Milford Grimmius, Gary McCuen, Robert Grimmius and William Ash.

Mrs. Bill Harken and Mrs. James VanDeest were in charge of floral arrangements.

Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery.

Mrs. Grimmius, nee Jennie Kiewiet, was born September 26, 1883, in the Netherlands. She came to this country in 1912, and married Minko Grimmius. The couple made their home in Grundy Center.

She was a member of the Bethany Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Walter (Marie) Folkerts of Reinbeck, Mrs. Jennie Sonntag of Des Moines, Mrs. Anna McCuen of Osseo, Wis., and Mrs. John (Grace) Miller of Marcus; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1939, four sons, two daughters and one brother.

Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home of Grundy Center was in charge of arrangements.
