Leon Lyon Laid to Rest in Grundy Cemetery

Leon L. Lyon, 80, passed away April 22 at the Veterans hospital in Des Moines where he had been confined since suffering a broken hip at his residence at the Iowa Soldier's Home in Marshalltown on April 18.

Mr. Lyon was born in Jones county, Iowa, October 26, 1890 and worked as a farm hand there until he took residence at the Iowa Soldier's Home, October 25, 1967.

Funeral services were held Friday morning at the Iowa Soldier's Home chapel and burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery. Casketbearers were all residents of the Iowa Soldier's Home.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Archie Butler of North English and one cousin, Mrs. Wayne Morrison of Grundy Center.

The Ferree-Oltmann Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
