Elwin E. Gray

Arrangements are pending at the Locke Funeral Home for Elwin E. Gray, 83, of the Friendship Village Retirement Center. He died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Schoitz Memorial Hospital of complications of advanced age.

Elwin E. Gray

Funeral services for Elwin E. Gray, 83, of Friendship Village Retirement Center who died of complications of age at Schoitz Memorial Hospital at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Locke Funeral Home. The Rev. Russell G. Blank, Friendship Village chaplain, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. William E. Taylor, assistant pastor of Presbyterian church. Burial will be in Grundy Center cemetery.

Friends who wish to may give memorials in his name to Westminster United Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Gray was born Feb. 28, 1888, at Honeywood, Ont. in Canada, the son of Robert and Lucy Dickey Gray. He married Ethel Olson March 9, 1948, at Albert Lea, Minn. Following graduation from University of Iowa he taught schools there and in recent years was engaged in truck farming in the Waterloo area. He was a member of Westminster United Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife; one sister, Mrs. Fern Gray of Friendship Village, and two stepsons, Irwin Olson of Albert Lea, Minn., and Donald Olson of Little Falls, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents.
