Former Grundy Resident Dies Friday in Waterloo
Mrs. Roy Avery died last Friday in Waterloo of a coronary thrombosis. She was 67 years old. She grew up in Grundy Center. Her maiden name was Lillian Mae Frazee, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Frazee, long time residents of Grundy Center. She was born in Grundy Center February 17, 1888. On December 25, 1907 she was married to Roy Avery. The couple resided in Waterloo all of her married life.
Surviving are her husband, two sons, Frank of Waterloo and Earl who lives in Louisiana. There are two daughters, Mrs. Marvin Clark, Waterloo, and Mrs. Iona Lee, Littleton, Colorado.
There are eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, two sisters and two brothers. Her parents and daughter are buried in the Grundy Center cemetery.
Funeral services were Monday afternoon at the Ferree Funeral chapel in Grundy Center. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. E. E. Basye, pastor of the Grundy Methodist church.
