Ruth Elliott Dies Friday After Long Illness

Ruth Naomi Elliott, 40, daughter of Ellsworth and Anna Elliott, was born near Grundy Center, Iowa, Jan. 11, 1899. With the exception of about eight years in Waterloo, her home has always been in the neighborhood of Grundy Center. About eight years ago she became afflicted with tuberculosis which centered in the spine, gradually bringing on a long, painful illness. Her father died 37 years ago. There survives the mother and a brother, Ellsworth.

Funeral services were held at the Coffman funeral home, conducted by her pastor, Rev. James B. Bird, on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 22. Burial was beside her father in the Grundy Center cemetery.

Out of town relatives present were Mrs. Elliott's niece, Mrs. Glen Babcock, and son, and Earl Babcock of St. Paul, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Misner, Donnabelle Elliott, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Walker, and Misses Mary, Margurite and Ivadell Elliott, all of Waterloo, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Elliott, Gladbrook, and Ed Elliott of Morrison.
