Fred Korthous Dies In Hospital From Pneumonia

Fred Harm Korthous, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Korthous of Grundy Center, died in the hospital at Marshalltown at 2:30 Monday afternoon after a short illness with pneumonia. He would have been 17 years old had he lived until the 17th of next June.

The young man had been at the home of his sister, Mrs. Wilbur Beenken, near Parkersburg, when he was taken sick a week ago. He was brought to his home in Grundy Center Friday evening and his condition grew rapidly worse and on Sunday he was removed to the hospital.

Fred was born in Grundy Center and spent all of his life here. He is survived by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services in charge of Rev. Oliver Stevenson and Rev. R. B. Fisher of Clarksville will be held in the Presbyterian church in Grundy Center Thursday afternoon at 2:30.
