Mrs. Nealie Bourne Bacon Dies In Calif.

Mrs. Nealie Bourne Bacon, who spent a large portion of her life in Grundy Center, died at Burbank, California, on August 17th. She had been afflicted with a heart ailment and her health had been on the decline during the past year. The end came quite suddenly while she was seated in a chair at the Pacific Evangelical Home, where she spent her last years. She was 72 years old.

Funeral services were held at Glendale, Calif., last Saturday. The body was cremated. The ashes will be sent to Grundy Center for interment in the family lot where her husband and her father and mother are buried. Her brother, J. Nye Bourne from Washington, D.C., was with his sister during the last few days of her life. Her sister, Mrs. Clara Price from Los Angeles, was also with her.

Mrs. Bacon was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Bourne, early residents of Grundy Center. She came here with her parents when she was a little girl and grew up here. She made her home with her parents continually until their death. About 20 years ago she was married to William Bacon. The ceremony took place in the Columbia hotel in Grundy Center. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Boise, Idaho, where they remained a few years, when they went to California. The husband died about ten years ago.

Surviving are one brother Fred from Minneapolis, one brother Nye from Washington, D.C., and one sister, Mrs. Clara Price of Los Angeles.
