Last Rites Wednesday For Mrs. Niels Petersen

Funeral services were held in the Congregational church at Reinbeck last Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Niels Petersen, who died at her home on June 20th following a paralytic stroke. She was 71 years old.

Mrs. Petersen was born at Freeport, Ill., June 16, 1878, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Peatow. At the age of six years, she came to Grundy county with her parents, lived on a farm north of Reinbeck, later moving to a farm south of Reinbeck.

In 1900 she was married to Niels Petersen. They built the first house in Dike, living there four years, then moved to Elkton, So. Dak., for four years and later to Newell, Iowa. In 1914 they moved to Reinbeck, where they lived ever since. Surviving are her husband and one sister, Mrs. Louisa Porter.
