Guy Longnecker Dies In Waterloo
Guy Longnecker, who was born in Grundy county and who lived here the greater share of his life, died in his home in Waterloo Wednesday morning. Death was from a stroke which he had in January. He would have been 53 years old in September. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Longnecker. The family resided on a farm in Grundy county, where Guy grew up. He was born Sept. 2nd, 1896.
On September 11, 1918, he was married to Olla Algood at Grundy Center. The couple resided on a Grundy county farm until 20 years ago when they moved to Waterloo. Until the time that he was disabled by a stroke, he was employed by the John Deere Company at Waterloo.
Surviving are the wife and two daughters, Doris and Dorothy. Other survivors are a brother, Lee, who lives in Waterloo, and an uncle, Ellis Dunn, who resides at Denver, Colo.
Funeral services will be held at the Kearns funeral home in Waterloo Saturday afternoon at 1:30. The body will be brought to Grundy Center for burial. There will be a graveside service about 3:30 and the casket will be opened at the grave. Rev. Green, pastor of the Grundy Methodist church, and Rev. Bird from Cedar Falls will conduct the service at the grave.
