Funeral Thursday for Mrs. Genevieve Schaa

Mrs. Genevieve Schaa, 44, of Grundy Center, died at 11 p.m. Monday at Grundy County Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient for a week with terminal pneumonia.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center, with Rev. John L. Lewis officiating, assisted by Rev. E. H. Buschman. Burial will be in the Grundy Center cemetery.

Genevieve Dirks, the daughter of H. O. (Ford) and Jennie Weseman Dirks, was born in Colfax township on April 2, 1926.

She attended the Grundy Center school.

On November 21, 1945, she was married to Edward G. Schaa. The couple lived in Holland for 16 years. For the past two years she has resided in Grundy Center.

She is survived by three daughters, Sandra, Mrs. Gordon Pint of Raymond, Jeri, Mrs. Lee Stone, Grundy Center and Lynn Lea, at home; and one grandson.

Also one sister, Lois, Mrs. Harold Abels, Grundy Center; and two brothers, George Dirks of Grundy Center and Kenneth Dirks of Cedar Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
