Martin Misner Buried Here Following Death At Waterloo

Martin Misner, a former resident of Grundy Center, died Tuesday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. A. Elliott, at 100 Marsh St., Waterloo, Iowa. Mr. Misner was 82 years of age at the time of his death which occurred after only a short illness. Funeral services were held at Mrs. Elliott's home this morning and the body brought here for burial today. Rev. J. C. Orth, pastor of the Community church of Cedar Heights, had charge of the services. Mr. Misner was born August 23, 1940, in Washington county, Md. At the age of 10 he moved to Mt. Carroll, Ill., where he was married to Miss Mary Poffenberger, who preceded him in death by four years. Some 43 years ago he moved from his home in Illinois to Grundy County. A year ago he went to Waterloo with his daughter, Mrs. W. A. Elliott, from Morrison. While living in this community he was a member of the Church of the Brethren. The deceased leaves to mourn his departure the following children: Mrs. E. R. Elliott and Mrs. Joe Robins, of Grundy Center; Mrs. W. A. Elliott and R. J. Misner, of Waterloo; Harry of Chicago; and David and Oscar, of Minneapolis, Minn.
